Helen R. Harrison, Sandy Lake, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday (2-10-25) in St. Paul’s, Greenville, PA after a period of failing health. She was 87. She was born May 27, 1937 in Venango County, Pa to Joseph P. and Ruth C. Barnes Keller.
Helen was a 1955 graduate of Lakeview High School. In her early years she worked at the local Isaly’s, The Beal Brothers (which became Hadley Weld), The Lakeview Inn and then she retired from Polk Center after twenty years of service. She was a long time faithful member of the Sandy Lake Presbyterian Church. She married James W. Harrison November 19, 1971 and he preceded her in death November 26, 2019.
Helen loved taking care of her home and kept things immaculate, making sure everything was in order and tending to her garden. She was known for her great sense of humor and her sharp wit. She especially loved taking care of her family and showing the love she had for them. She was very proud of her grandchildren and enjoyed attending their activities and sporting events. Memories of Helen will be special to her family and she will be remembered fondly, but sadly missed.
She is survived by three daughters: Kimberly (Tim) Kinch, Wendy Rodgers and Tracy (Rod) Mateo along with daughter-in-law Ann Harrison. Nine grandchildren: Grant Mateo, Madison Mateo, Cody (Gina) Emmett, Kami (Dean) Toth, Terri (Mike) Larimer, Joe Vanderveen, Jaclyn Harrison, Ben Harrison and Amanda Harrison, and several great-grandchildren. Also a brother-in-law Robert Harrison and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a son William Harrison, two sisters: Peggy McClelland and Carol Kitchen and two brothers, Joseph and Paul Keller.

Visitation Friday (2-14-25) Noon until time of service. Funeral Service: 2:00 PM Friday (2-14-25) in the Rose and Black Funeral Home, 99 Franklin St., Stoneboro with Rev. Beth Creekpaum, Pastor, Sandy Lake Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment: Oak Hill Cemetery, Sandy Lake Twp.
