Helen R. Lepley

Helen R. Lepley, 83, formerly of Meadville, and a resident of 809 Forest Drive, Oxon Hill, MD, died Thursday March 21, 2002, at Villa Rosa Nursing Home, Mitchellville, MD, where she has lived since Nov. 1994.

She was born in Meadville, April 17, 1918, a daughter of Edward & Anna Marhofer Reuter.  She married Edward C. Lepley July 31, 1939, and he died June 12, 1993.

She was a graduate of the Meadville Public Schools, and Indiana Univ. of PA, and had taught school in Ernest and Meadville, PA for over 20 years.  She was a member of St. Columba Roman Catholic Church of Oxon Hill, MD and was a former member of St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church and the Columbia Court, Catholic Daughters of America, Meadville.  She was a Girl Scout Leader for 25 years and a volunteer with the American Cancer Society.

Survivors, include two sons, R. Donald Lepley and his wife Betty of Teleco, TN and G. Edward Lepley and his wife Marion of Meadville; two daughters, Joan Sloan and her husband Bill of Oxon Hill, MD and Peggy Osborne and her husband Don of Artesia, NM; a sister, Peg Limber of Meadville; eleven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a son Gene Lepley.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2-5 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.  Scripture prayer service will be Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Gregory Passauer, as celebrant.

Entombment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens mausoleum.
