Helen Zuck Hayes

Helen Zuck Hayes, 87, formerly of Erie and current resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community since December 19, 1990, died Wednesday, December 3, 1997 at Meadville Medical Center following a brief illness.

She was born May 24, 1910 in Erie, a daughter of the late Floyd and Ora Garloch Zuck.  She married Raymond W. Hayes February 12, 1954.  He preceded her in death on January 25, 1991.

Mrs. Hayes was a 1932 graduate of Grove City College.  She taught in the Millcreek School District for many years.  She was a member of Order of Eastern Star.  Following retirement, she and her husband traveled extensively in Europe and the Middle East.

She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Erie.

Survivors include one brother, Clark F. (Aleta) Zuck of Erie; close friend, Morris Baldwin of Meadville; a brother-in-law, Edward (Sue) Hayes of Lakeland, FL and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Fairview Cemetery.
