Henry H. (Pap) Dengler, 93, of Saegertown, died at home Wednesday May 10, 2000, following a brief illness.
He was born in Moisertown, January 8, 1907, a son of Charles M. and Daisey Snyder Dengler. He married Edna Henry, December 21, 1944, and she survives.
He was a graduate of Blooming Valley High School and had worked as an auto mechanic for Chevrolet Dealerships in Meadville and Erie for 43 years, retiring in 1971. He was one of the oldest retirees, in length of service, from General Motors at that time. He also operated a farm in Woodcock Township. He was of the Protestant Faith.
Survivors, in addition to his wife of 55 years, include two daughters, Carolyn Dengler of Morrisdale and Connie Vivian (Jack) of Blooming Valley; two sons, Charles Dengler (Judy) of Saegertown and Chris Dengler (Laura) of Saegertown; five grandchildren, Tracey Dengler Crawford (Jason), Jeff Vivian, Melissa Dengler, Carrie Vivian Webster (Daniel) and Alicia Dengler; a great-grandson and several cousins.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Blooming Valley Cemetery.
