Henry Haemer, 82, of 616 Limber Road, died Sat. Aug. 23, 2003, at Meadville Medical Center, after an extended illness.
He was born in Meadville Dec. 14, 1920, son of John & Mary Smock Haemer. He was first married to Ruth Baumbach in 1941, and she preceded him in death in 1975. He then married LeAnna Hoffman Davenport in 1975, and she survives.
He was a carpenter by trade having been employed at Allegheny College for a number of years, and also was a well-known plasterer in Meadville for many years.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and spending time with his beloved dog, Jessie.
Survivors in addition to his wife of 28 years include 3 daughters, Sandra Fedorski and her husband Joe of Espyville, Cynthia Reeher and her husband Pete of Jamestown, Anita Norrix, and her fiancé Philip Shafer of Meadville, 1 son, the Rev. Richard Haemer and his wife Linda of Cambridge Springs, 1 step-daughter, Tora Fox and her husband Jim of Meadville, 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 1 brother, John Haemer, and several nieces & nephews.
In addition to his first wife Ruth, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tanum Norrix, a sister, Sylvia Irlam, a step-son, Philip Davenport, and a sister-in-law, Roamine Haemer.
Calling hours will be Monday Aug. 25, 2003, from noon until 3:00 p.m. at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc. 581 Chestnut St. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gregory Streed, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Saegertown Cemetery.
