Henry Kendal Dick

August 31, 1917 — March 12, 1997

Henry Kendal Dick, 79, of Meadville, died Wednesday, March 12, 1997 at Meadville Medical Center following a brief illness.

He was born in Raleigh, NC, August 31, 1917, a son of the late Henry K. and Mary Meikle Dick.  He married Susanne Brewer, October 23, 1954.  She survives.

He was a graduate of Bloomfield, NJ public schools and earned a Bachelor of Textile Engineering from the Lowell Textile Institute, Lowell, MA.  He retired from Avtex in 1981 as a product appraisal supervisor after 35 years service.  He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and a former Deacon, Elder and Clerk of Session.  He also served on several Presbytery committees.  He was a member of Masonic Lodge #408, Solomon Royal Arch Chapter #191, N/W Commandry #25, Crawford County Shrine Club and Zem Zem Shrine Temple.  He was also a member of Meadville Kiwanis Club and the Round Table.

He was a veteran of World War II serving with the US Army Air Corps, 10th Weather Squadron in the Chine-India-Burma Theater.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a niece, Nancy C. Hoerner of Wayne, NJ and a nephew, Dick K. Hoerner of Sacramento, CA.  He was preceded in death by a brother, James M. Dick and a sister, Agnes C. Hoerner.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
