Hilda M. Russ

Hilda M. Russ, 90, of 7746 Mercer Pike, Meadville and formerly of Pittsburgh, died Thursday, September 27, 2007 at Meadville Medical Center.

She was born in Pittsburgh September 25, 1917, a daughter of the late George and Margaret Winters Wilhelm.  She married Edward H. Russ July 30, 1949 and he preceded her in death February 13, 1987.

Survivors include a sister, Bernice A. Droz of Meadville with whom she resided for the past 13 years; 2 nieces, Darleen Swan Brown of Meadville and Dorothy Eckert of Pittsburgh; and a nephew, Roy Eckert of Pittsburgh.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Nathan and Leon Wilhelm; 2 sisters, Zelda Eckert and Verna McClelland; and several nieces and nephews.

A chapel funeral service will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Union Dale Cemetery, Pittsburgh followed by interment in the cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.
