Hilis D. Rearick

September 22, 1925 — April 13, 1985

Hilis D. (Lefty) Rearick, 59, of Vernon Township, Meadville, died at City Hospital Saturday, April 13, 1985, following an extended period of failing health. He was born at Thayerton, Armstrong County, September 22, 1925, a son of Lawrence and Mabel Willison Rearick, Sr. He married Iva Jean Mailliard December 16, 1945. He was employed as a siding applicator, from which he retired on disability in 1980. He was previously employed as a barber at Conneaut Lake and Meadville. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II, and was a member of Linesville Veterans of Foreign Wars and Vernon Central VFD. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Darlene A. Gourley of Orlando, FL, Mrs. Steuart (Cheryl) Hall of Meadville and Miss Cindy Rearick of Meadville; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence, a sister, Mrs. Elmo Schreckengost and an infant grandson. Services were held at Waid Funeral Home. Interment was in Watson Run Cemetery.
