Homer Stuart Beggs, 84 of Sandy Lake, peacefully went home to be with his Lord on February 24, 2018 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Homer was born on May 21, 1933 in Sandy Lake to the late John S. and Helen Wike Beggs. He married the former Nancy Jane Enterline on October 22, 1955, she survives at home. He was a 1951 graduate of the Sandy Lake High School, and served in the Army from 1953 to 1955. He owned his own truck from 1958 to 1962 and then went to work for Chadderton Trucking of Sharon, retiring in 1992. He and his wife together owned and operated Countryside Antiques for many years. He was a member of Teamster Local 261. Homer enjoyed hunting, car racing, and especially loved spending the winters in Florida. While in Florida he attended Baptist Temple Church in Dundee, FL. He was an active member of the Sandy Lake Alliance Church, where he served as an elder. He was very dedicated to his church, and his Walk with the Lord. He was very strong in his faith, and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who always enjoyed spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Daniel and wife Kaylene and Steve and wife Cindy all of Sandy Lake, one daughter Sharon and husband Ken Roskos of Eighty Four, PA, several grandchildren, Michael Beggs and wife Nayeon of Seattle, WA, Jenna Conroy and husband J.C. of Summerville, SC, Adam Beggs and wife Kelly of Germany, Alex Beggs and wife Christina of Grove City, Jonathan Beggs and Vika Beggs both of Sandy Lake, great-grandchildren Grayson and Olivia Conroy of Summerville, SC, Noah and Ayla Beggs of Germany, and Nathaniel Beggs of Grove City, a sister Linda Wimer and husband Dave of Titusville, FL, and sister-in-law Doris Beggs of Sandy Lake. In addition to his parents, Homer was preceded in death by his brother John Beggs, and his sister-in-law Olive Troutman. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the Black Funeral Home, Stoneboro. Funeral services will be private. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
