Howard B. Boyd

Howard B. Boyd, 75, of Guys Mills, died at City Hospital Wednesday, July 10, 1974, after an extended illness.

A son of John C. and Myrtle Bentley Boyd, he was born in Randolph Township September 29, 1898.  He married Florence Shaffer September 5, 1922.  A sales representative for food wholesalers, he first was employed by J. S. Hotchkiss Brother of Meadville and retired in 1968 from the C. A. Curtze Co. of Erie.  He was a member of the United Church of Guys Mills and a member of Randolph Volunteer Fire Department.

In addition to his widow, survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Mitchell (Eloise) Kosanovic of Meadville, Mrs. Wilford (Carolyn) Miller of Guys Mills and Mrs. Gene (Jean) Rumsey of Meadville; five sons, David S. of Meadville, Donald H. of Meadville, John L. of Townville, R. Dale of Niagara Falls, and Russell J. of Guys Mills; a sister, Mrs. Stuart (Ruth) Palmer of Flagler Beach, FL; a brother, James Boyd of Meadville; 20 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.  A brother, Orson, preceded him in death.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Union Cemetery, Guys Mills.
