Howard S. Miller

Howard S. Miller, Jr., 67, of Meadville, died Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at the Meadville Medical Center.

He was born in Jeannette, PA March 24, 1945 a son of Howard S. and Flora Young Miller. He married Bernetta “Bonnie” McQuiston November 13, 1971 and she survives.

He was a 1963 graduate of Cochranton High School and was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the US Army in Germany.  He was a welder working for Drafto in Cochranton for 15 years.  He also did construction work and was a self-employed logger.  He attended Calvary Baptist Church, enjoyed hunting and fishing and especially spending time with his family.

Survivors, in addition to his wife Bonnie of 40 years, include: a son, Luke Miller of Salt Lake City, UT; a daughter Susan Miller of Bellevue, PA; a sister, Linda Marie Miller of New Castle, PA; two nieces, Amy Moosmann and Amanda Gonzalez and four nephews, Jared Moosmann, Michael Satterlee, Daniel Satterlee and Matthew Gonzalez.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville, PA.  The memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Doug Messerall, Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating.

Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

The family suggests memorials be made to Calvary Baptist Christian Academy, 543 Randolph Street, Meadville, PA 16335.
