Howard S. Urquhart, 60, of Hadley Rd., Greenvillle, died tragically February 20, 2008 in Greene Township, Mercer County.
He was born in Meadville November 28, 1947, a son of Hector J. and Ruth L. Allen Urquhart. He had been married to Carolyn Davis Urquhart.
He was a 1965 graduate of Cochranton Junior-Senior High School and was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War, serving aboard the USS Forrestal from 1965 to 1968.
Howard was employed at Cattron Group International, Sharpsville. A member of the Black Ash Sportsman’s Club, he was an avid archery and muzzle-loading hunter who enjoyed hunting with friends. He also enjoyed fishing and especially spending time with his son, daughter, and grandson.
Survivors include a son, Johnathan R. Urquhart of St. Petersburg, FL; a daughter, Jennifer A. Urquhart of Meadville; a grandson, Nickolas May of Meadville; his mother, Ruth L. Urquhart Winters of Meadville; 3 brothers, James R. Urquhart and his wife Jayne of Guys Mills; A. Hugh Urquhart and his wife Judy of Meadville; and Richard L. Urquhart of Nashville, TN; 4 nephews and 1 nieces. He was preceded in death by his father; a sister, Kathleen L. Urquhart Neads; a nephew, Scott J. Urquhart; and a niece, Sharon L. Urquhart.
Calling hours are Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.
A funeral service is Monday at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Kiser Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
