Howell Brock

Howell Brock, 82, of Meadville, died Sunday, October 25, 1970, at City Hospital, where he had been a patient since October 21.

He was born in Meadville, October 11, 1888, a son of George D. and Maria Antoinette Williams Brock.  He married the former Elizabeth Ann Rishard, April 11, 1923.

Mr. Brock first operated a grocery store on North Street with his father for several years and was later in the real estate business with three of his brothers for several years.  He worked at Talon, Inc. for three years before retiring.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and was a life member of Dick Hose Volunteer Fire Department.  A veteran of World War I, serving in Europe, he was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars posts.

Surviving, in addition to his widow, are one daughter, Mrs. William (Virginia) Robinson of Kent, OH; one son, Robert G. Brock of Santa Maria, CA; one sister, Mrs. Walter (Nettie) Burkhardt of Meadville and five grandchildren.  A sister, Mrs. Mary McClintock, and four brothers, Grant, James, Don and George, died previously.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
