Hugh A. Davis, 82, of Conneaut Lake, died Monday, September 25, 2000 at Wesbury United Methodist Community following a period of declining health.
He was born October 12, 1917 in Oil City, a son of the late Loy and Florence Cathcart Davis. He married Pauline R. Andrews January 27, 1956 and she survives.
He was a graduate of Southside High School, Youngstown, OH. He was a Veteran of World War II having served in the US Army Air Corps. He worked as a union carpenter and retired from the maintenance department at McCrosky Tool of Meadville in 1980. He was a member of both the Conneaut Lake VFD and the Conneaut Lake Park VFD. He was a member of the VFW Post 7842, Linesville and was a former Scout Master of Troop 228, Conneaut Lake of the Boy Scouts of America. He loved hunting, fishing and his dog, Lady.
He was a member of the Fifth Street Presbyterian Church, Conneaut Lake.
Survivors include his wife, three sons, Richard Davis (Esther) of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, Charles Lee Davis (Joyce) of Meadville and Gary Lynn Davis (Sue) of Altoona; five grandchildren, Richard, Lucas, Michael, Brandon and Christopher Davis.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Randy Davis, one brother, Stuart Davis and one sister, Hollis Stach.
Services were held with the Waid-Coleman Funeral Home.
Interment was in Rocky Glen Cemetery, West Fallowfield Township.
