Hugh R. Hanna

Hugh R. Hanna, 87, a resident of the Wesbury United Methodist Community since February 1974, died at the community Friday, March 16, 1990, following a period of failing health.

He was born in Steuben Township, September 22, 1902, a son of Joseph B. and Emma August Hanna.  He married Mabel Armstrong December 27, 1933.  She preceded him in death January 30, 1984.

He had retired from his position with the maintenance department at Thiel College.  Prior to that, he owned and operated Hanna's Trucking Co. in Oil City.

He was a member of Jamestown United Methodist Church.  He was a former member of the church's administrative board, served as the church's Sunday school superintendent, and served as a Sunday school teacher.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Steinhoff, and two brothers, Harold and Floyd Hanna.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Chapmanville Cemetery.
