Ida E. Scowden, 84, a resident of Smith Institute, Saegertown, since February 1969, died at the institute Tuesday, December 26, 1972, following an extended illness.
She was born in Richmond Township, July 21, 1888, a daughter of Milford and Catherine Porter Pratt. She was married to Samuel Jones, subsequently to Albert Scowden who died in 1936. She was a member of United Presbyterian Church of the Redeemer.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Homer (Mary) Monnin of Saegertown, Mrs. Fred (Autumn) Neff of Meadville and Mrs. Lawrence (Margaret) Shaw of Stoneboro; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Lois (Emma) Fairchild of Mill Village; a son, James A. of Meadville; a sister-in-law, Mrs. William (Velma) Roha of Meadville; nine grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Blooming Valley Cemetery.
