Ida J. (Jean) Ellis, 81, of Greenville and formerly of Hartstown, died Monday, April 23, 2007 at UPMC Horizon, Greenville.
She was born March 29, 1926 in South Shenango Township, Crawford County, a daughter of the late Forrest and Hazel Holland Thompson. She married Elmer D. Ellis October 28, 1950 and he preceded her in death August 25, 2005.
She was a graduate of Fallowfield High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of Fallowfield United Methodist Church and Atlantic Golden Rule Rebekah Lodge.
Survivors include two sons, Donald E. Ellis (Lesa) of Conneaut Lake and Darrell C. Ellis (Linda) of Wakefield, NH; three daughters, Carol A. Williams of Atlantic, Rhonda J. Klink (Tom) of Jamestown and Amy M. Barber (Tim) of Jamestown; one sister, Pearl Winkle of Hartstown; four brothers, Frank Thompson (Myrna) of Hartstown, F. Dale Thompson (Mary) of Hartstown, Ken Thompson (Vivian) of Greenville and Gay Thompson of Spokane, WA; fourteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; one great-granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Mike Williams; a grandson, Chris Ellis; a great-granddaughter, Tabitha Schwab and a brother, Don Thompson.
Services were held with the Waid-Coleman Funeral Home.
Interment was in McMichael Cemetery, East Fallowfield Township.
