Ida Frances York

Ida Frances York, 82, of 18765 Townville Rd., Centerville and formerly of Bennington, VT, died Saturday, May 21, 2005 at Hamot Medical Center, Erie.

She was born March 30, 1923 in Wallawalla, WA, a daughter of the late Alexander and Mary Francis Comstock.  She married Ned Anthony York April 6, 1941 and he preceded her in death March 29, 1984.

She worked as a waitress at the Blue Benn Diner, Bennington, VT for 14 years.  She enjoyed embroidering and being a mother, grandmother, and homemaker.  A hardworking, dedicated family person, she was kind to everyone and loved by all.

She was a member of Little Cooley United Methodist Church.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Mary Frances Dunham and her husband Bruce of Avon, ME and Marilynn Louise Hepler and her husband Keith of Centerville; 2 sons, Michael Patton York of North Petersburg, NY and Mark Steven York and his wife Sharon of Groton, VT; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.  A funeral service will follow at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Larry Corner, Pastor of Little Cooley United Methodist Church officiating.

Interment will be in White Chapel Cemetery, Bennington, VT.
