Ida M. Barlett

January 16, 1873 — February 5, 1965

Ida M. Barlett, 92, widow of the Rev. Samuel H. Barlett, died Friday, February 5, 1965, at the Methodist Home for the Aged, North Park Avenue, following an illness of four years.

A 1909 graduate of the music department at Grove City College, she taught violin and piano for many years.

A daughter of Benjamin R. and Margaret Foust Slagle, she was born in Clarion County January 16, 1873.  She and the Rev. Mr. Barlett were married September 9, 1897, and served together on churches in Clarion, Lawrence and Erie counties.  They moved in September 1949 to the home where the Rev. Mr. Barlett died May 7, 1959.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. C. R. Torrance of Erie and Mrs. Carrie Bemis of Edinboro; a son, Arthur W. of Erie; a sister, Mrs. David O. McClain of Uniontown; and several nieces and nephews.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
