Mrs. Ida P. Wilcox, one of Meadville's oldest citizens, died Monday, June 6, 1960, at the age of 98. She made her home with a daughter, Mrs. Charles D. Beatty of Meadville.
Mrs. Wilcox was born in Rockdale Township, December 20, 1861 a daughter of Samuel and Lucinda Blystone Hoig. She made her home in the township until moving to Meadville in 1944, when her husband, Spencer N. Wilcox, died. The couple was married July 4, 1878, and operated a farm until his death.
She was a member of the Methodist Church, attending Stone Church, attending Stone Church while living in Meadville.
She was the mother of nine children, three of whom survive. They are the daughter, Mrs. Charles (Jeannette) Hood Beatty; two sons, Max G. of Meadville and Glenn N. of Albany, NY; eighteen grandchildren; thirty-six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Millers Station Cemetery.
