Inez E. Prenatt, 92, of Wilmington, Del., passed away peacefully on Friday, Dec. 13, 2013.
Inez was born in Meadville, a daughter of the late Leon G. and Alta C. Peas Prenatt. She was raised on the family farm on West Oil Creek Rd, Meadville, along with her nine older siblings, Lelia Theuret, Donald Prenatt, Catherine Conrad, Thelma Brunot, Leon (Friel) Prenatt, Anna Stevens, Walter Prenatt, Ruth Benson, and Robert Prenatt, all of who preceded her in death.
Inez had been employed at several downtown Meadville stores including The Crawford Store where she worked in the Accounts Receivable department for many years before moving to New Jersey in 1962. There she work as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone then transferred to Delaware where she worked for Diamond State Telephone until her retirement in 1986. She was a member of the Delaware Pioneers volunteer organization.
Inez loved taking walks, reading, and going to lunch with family. She truly loved her big family in Meadville, Delaware, and across the United States and friends that she made over the years. She was very spunky and extremely proud of being independent and self-reliant right up to her death. She also loved watching her Philly’s on TV.
Inez is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins here in Meadville, Delaware, and throughout the United States.
Calling hours will be Friday from 10 a.m. to noon with a funeral to follow at noon at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville, which will be officiated by Father John of the Sacred Heart Church of Conneautville Rd.
Interment will be in Kiser Hill Cemetery which overlooks the family farm.
