Iola C. Scrivner

March 27, 1913 — July 18, 1979

Iola C. Scrivner, 66, formerly of Golfview Manor, widow of John Scrivner, died Wednesday, July 18, 1979, at United Methodist Nursing Hospital where she had been a patient for two months.

She was born in Guys Mills March 27, 1913, daughter of Hugh and Agnes Smith Cutshall.  She first married Everett Waterhouse.  Scrivner died in 1976.

Mrs. Scrivner retired in 1975 from East End School where she taught kindergarten.  She taught in the Meadville schools over 20 years.

She graduated from Meadville public schools, Pennsylvania College of Music and the former Edinboro State Normal School.

Mrs. Scrivner was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Pennsylvania State Education Assn., National Education Assn. and the Mu Phi Epsilon Musical Sorority.  She did volunteer work at Meadville Public Library and City Hospital.

She is survived by a daughgter, Mrs. David (Dianne) Murkens of Meadville; a son, Hugh H. Waterhouse of Wichita, KA; three stepdaughters, Mrs. James (Alice) Lawlor of New York City, Mrs. William (Ruth) Spence of Grove City and Mrs. Robert (May) Evans of Butte, Mont.; three grandchildren and two aunts.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Blooming Valley Cemetery.
