Ione S. (Stiles) Anderson

Ione S. Anderson, 91, of Meadville, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Meadville Medical Center.

She was born June 11, 1924 on the family farm in Nicktown, a daughter of Emma Stiles.  She married Clayton (Pete) Anderson July 7, 1949 and he preceded her in death December 18, 1992.

Ione retired from Talon following 30 years of service.  She loved crocheting and enjoyed cake decorating, flower arranging, gardening, and following politics.

Survivors include four daughters, Waneta Callahan of Meadville, Carol Callahan and her husband James of Meadville, Denise Casperson and her husband James of Meadville, and Dawna Hockenberry of Apollo; ten grandchildren, Julia Callahan, Heide Callahan, Jennifer Callahan her husband Raymond James, Sandy Callahan Farkas and her husband Jason Farkas, Clay Callahan and his significant other Michelle Coon, Jessica Callahan Ellis and her husband Chris, Jared Callahan, Chris Maynard and his wife Kristy, Becky Byler and her husband Bradley, and April Mielecki and her husband James; thirteen great-grandchildren, Matthew and Joshua Callahan, Aiden and Grayson Farkas, Colton and Daniel Ellis, Madison, Dylan, and CJ, and Janae Maynard, Aryah Lindsey, and Ashton and Ethan Byler; a sister, Betty Wenturine of Barnesboro; and two nephews, Weldon and Virgil Wenturine.

In addition to her mother and husband, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Brian Callahan and two great-grandchildren, Hunter and Sierra Callahan.

Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.

The funeral service will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery.
