Ira W. Sheets

Ira W. Sheets, 70, an East Mead Township farmer, suffered a fatal heart attack last night while burning brush near his Meadville home.

Mr. Sheets was born at Greenbank, WV, and came to this area about 30 years ago.  He was employed for 23 years as a machinist's helper on the Erie Railroad, retiring seven years ago due to ill health.

He was a member of State Road Methodist Church and a member of Blooming Valley Grange for 25 years.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Rella Taylor Sheets; four daughters, Mrs. William L. Hart of Meadville, Mrs. Ward Sheets of Meadville, Mrs. Schwab of Meadville and Miss Grace Sheets of Warren, PA; two sons, Wilson W. Sheets of Meadville and Kyle Sheets of Meadville; two sisters, Mrs. Mason Taylor of Loudenville, OH and Mrs. Ellen Gay of Marlinton, WV; a brother, Samuel Sheets of Cass WV; eighteen grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
