Miss Irene McDaniel, 74, of Meadville, died Friday, May 1, 1981, at Hamot Medical Center two weeks after suffering injuries in an automobile accident at Titusville.
She was born in Wayne Township, March 22, 1907, a daughter of Robert L. and Lucetta Heath McDaniel.
She retired in 1972 as sixth grade teacher at Third District School. Formerly she had taught in Wayne Township, Harborcreek and Cochranton area schools.
She was a member of McDaniels Corners Bible Church, Cochranton, and its women's guild. She was a graduate of Edinboro State College and a member of Pennsylvania Retired Public School Employees Assn., Crawford County Retired Public School Employees Assn. and Delta Kappa Gamma sorority. She was a member and treasurer of American Assn. of Retired Persons.
She is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Harry (Bernice) McElhaney of Meadville, Miss Blanche McDaniel of Warren State Hospital and Mrs. James (Velma) Roha of Meadville; three brothers, Leroy of Guys Mills, twin brothers, Ira of Cochranton and Charles of Guys Mills; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Cochranton Cemetery.
