Isaac William Pineo, of Meadville, passed from this life on February 25, 2015 after a sudden illness. His unusual gift for empathy and his great joy in living will be sorely missed by his family and his many friends.
Isaac was born March 24, 1984 to Atty. William Fletcher and Dr. Patricia Prather Pineo. He went to St. Mary’s College of Maryland, where he met the love of his life and his wife-to-be, Rebecca Sawyer. They graduated together in May 2006, and were married later that month on the shores of Conneaut Lake. He then completed his education at Temple University School of Law, earning a J.D. degree in 2009.
Isaac spent one year honing his “big-city” legal skills in the firm of Aivazoglu & Mikropoulos in Philadelphia. In 2010, he returned to Meadville to join the Prather Law Firm. In 2013 he established his own general civil practice and criminal defense practice, Pineo Law, and became a part-time assistant Public Defender as well. He was fast earning a reputation as an aggressive and effective defense attorney. He frequently attributed his success in the courtroom to the guiding spirit of his great grandfather, Judge Thomas Jefferson Prather, whose picture hangs in Courtroom I.
During those years, Isaac and Becky also added a dog and two wonderful sons to their burgeoning household. Isaac loved his boys immensely. He also loved hiking, hunting, being outdoors, working in the garden, and generally communing with nature. One of his fond hobbies was recovering a limb or a stone, and forging these raw materials into a primitive weapon. In addition he enjoyed collecting antique weaponry, such as swords, knives, bows and arrows, etc. He had an intense interest in Native American life and lore.
In addition to his parents, Isaac is survived by his wife Rebecca, two sons Eli William and Sawyer Tecumseh, three brothers Dr. Thomas (Tania) of Greenville, Dr. Ross (Sara) of Meadville and Erie, Dr. Caleb (Nisrine) of Durham, NC, a brother-in-law Ryan (Connie) Sawyer of Orlando, FL, eight nieces and nephews, Elizabeth Pineo, Emily Pineo, Ellen Pineo, Sam Pineo, Rachel Pineo, Jessica Pineo, Zavier Pineo and Fletcher Pineo, numerous cousins, including Ross (Libby) Prather of Meadville, and many aunts and uncles, including Carol Prather of Meadville.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank Prather and June Prather Good, and Victor and Beatrice Elizabeth Pineo.
