Isabell M. Sherman, 83, a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community, Meadville, died at the Meadville Medical Center Wednesday, February 14, 2007.
She was born in Conneautville August 30, 1923, a daughter of the late Ralph and Iva Clark Payne. She had been married to Harold Burns and subsequently married Milton Prussia who preceded her in death in 1956. She married Earl H. Watson in 1957 and he preceded her in death December 20, 1984. She subsequently married William H. Sherman December 24, 1985 and he preceded her in death April 11, 2002.
She worked at Albro Packaging, Springboro, was a nurse’s aide at St. Sava’s, Springboro and the Crawford County Care Center, Saegertown, and did domestic work for various area physicians.
Isabell’s life revolved around her family and being actively involved in all their lives. She was of the Protestant faith.
Survivors include 4 children, Lucile Menist and her husband Nick, Russell Prussia and his wife Betty, JoAnn Castile, and Bonnie Kuhn and her husband Ken, all of Meadville; 3 sisters, Elizabeth Ferry with whom she resided at Wesbury, Harriet Trucco of Meadville, and Marion Randall of Spartansburg, SC; a brother, Ralph Payne, Jr. of Meadville; 14 grandchildren, Jesse Hites and Brenda Cribb of Myrtle Beach, SC, Tina Borden of Erie, Nick A. Menist of Meadville, John Prussia of Beaufort, SC, Cliff Prussia of Cleveland, GA, Clinton Prussia of Las Vegas, NV, Justin Wood of Erie, Nicole Prussia of Erie, Jim Castile of Polk, Jenn Gadeberg of Williamsburg, VA, David Kuhn of Erie, Doug Kuhn of Meadville, and Nate Kuhn of Meadville; 20 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews; and a former son-in-law, Billy Castile of Meadville. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, Clifford Prussia, a daughter, Norma Hites, 2 sisters, Iva Midkiff and Sara Knepp, and 3 brothers, Augustus, Walter, and Clyde Payne.
Calling hours will be Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.
A funeral and committal service will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Daniel A. Kaufman officiating.
Interment will be in East Spring Cemetery, Spring Township.
