Iva H. Nichols, 89, of Meadville, a patient at North Park Manor for the past six years, died at the home, Monday, October 6, 1986, following a period of failing health.
She was born in Hayfield Township, December 18, 1896, a daughter of Oliver Perry and Bertha Bacon Hood. She married Robert W. Nichols, who died in 1947.
Mrs. Nichols was a graduate of the former Edinboro State Normal School and taught school in Erie and Harmonsburg. She was also employed as head cashier at the A & P Food Store, Meadville. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include two sons, Bruce E. Nichols and Howard E. Nichols, both of Meadville; a daughter, Mrs. Iva Lee Seybold of Meadville; a sister, Mrs. Clara Livingston of Conneaut Lake; seventeen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Marguerite Linton.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
