Ivan A. Virtue, Sr., 84, of Guys Mills, a charter member of the Crawford County Fair Board, died Friday, September 3, 1993, at Meadville Medical Center, after an illness of several months.
He was born in Randolph Township on August 3, 1909, a son of Ernest E. and Austa Oakes Virtue. He married Frances E. Williams on December 23, 1929, and she died May 1, 1983.
He was a life-long, self-employed farmer. He was a member of the United Evangelical Free Church of Guys Mills.
He was a charter member of the Crawford County Fair Board, a member of the Crawford County Extension Service Board, the former GLF Co-Op Board, Randolph Grange and the Pennsylvania Farmers Assn.
Survivors include three daughters, Lois V. Siverling of North East, Carol Braund of Fayetteville, NY and Mrs. James (Sandra) Corselius of Clarks Summit; a son, Ivan A. Virtue, Jr. of Grove City; one sister, Mrs. Melvin (Eleanor) Carman of Venango; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one niece and two nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Leda Minhinnick; a brother, Walter Virtue and a granddaughter.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Union Cemetery, Guys Mills.
