J. Audell Lowrey

March 28, 1914 — September 4, 2013

J. Audell Lowrey, 99, formerly of Meadville and Conneaut Lake, and a resident of Grove Manor, Grove City, passed away there Wednesday, September 4, 2013.

She was born March 28, 1914 in Salina, Venango County, a daughter of Ralph L. and Hettie Benninger Clark.  She married Herbert W. Lowrey May 17, 1934 and he preceded her in death May 31, 1992.

Audell was a graduate of Sandy Lake High School and following high school completed secretarial course work.  A homemaker, she was a former active member of Stone United Methodist Church, Meadville, its United Methodist Women, and served as the communion steward.  She subsequently was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Conneaut Lake.

Audell was a former United Way volunteer, avid bridge player, and enjoyed golfing, sewing, crocheting, and western square dancing.

Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Evalyn Lowrey of Wattsburg; three grandchildren, linda Doutt and her husband Rick, Richard D. Lowrey and his wife Diane, and Debby Peck and her husband Phil; eight great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Joanne Rudis of Muskegon, MI; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard C. Lowrey; four sisters, Willavina Flinchbaugh, Maxine Miller, Helen Shannahan, and Jeannette George; and a brother, Ralph L. Clark, Jr.

Calling hour will be Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville where the funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. John Donner, Pastor of Lowville United Methodist Church, officiating.

Entombment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Meadville.
