J. Wesley (Wes) Lang, 87, a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community since 1986, died Tuesday, September 18, 1990, at Meadville Medical Center following an illness of several months.
He was born in Cincinnati, OH, on March 23, 1903, a son of George R. and Lida Cutter Lang. He married Irene DeGrange on July 10, 1929. She survives.
He retired in 1967 from Wes Lang Motors after 44 years in the automobile business. He was a 60-year member of Stone United Methodist Church and was a church usher and board member. He attended Meadville High School and Meadville Commercial College. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 408, Meadville, for 50 years; member of Taylor Hose Co.; former Red Cross director; former member of Meadville Lions Club; and served in Co. B of the Pennsylvania National Guard from 1920 to 1923.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, John W. (Jack) Lang, Jr. of Meadville and Robert H. Lang of Surfside Beach, SC; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Irene Sprout and two brothers, George A. and Gaylord R. Lang.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Saegertown Cemetery.
