Jack Wilson Piatt, 75, of Hartstown, passed away peacefully at his home the morning of Friday, August 18, 2023. Jack was born to Jack and Marie Piatt on October 5, 1947, and he was proudly raised in Geneva, PA. He was a 1966 graduate of Conneaut Lake High School.
Jack married the love of his life, Joyce Peters, on February 11, 1967, and they cultivated a beautiful family together. Jack worked at T. Bruce Sales from 1982-2015 as a steel fitter and later as a group leader. He took great satisfaction in his work and in providing for his family.
Jack was a true outdoorsman. He was a deer and pheasant hunter as well as an avid fisherman. He spent much of his retirement on Conneaut Lake fishing with Joyce. Jack was an excellent storyteller, sharing memories and lessons with his family and friends. He was also known as the family weatherman, keeping them informed on the weather each day. You could usually hear Jack singing a happy tune long before you saw the jolly smile on his face.
Jack is survived by his wife, Joyce Piatt, who he often said was the best thing that ever happened to him. They were happily married for 56 years. Jack was the proud father of Jack Piatt and his wife, Patty; Ann Fire and her husband, Joe; Dean Piatt and his wife, Amanda; and Crystal Nicols and her husband, Cory. Jack had endless love for his four grandchildren: Gwendolyn, Brock, Tanner and Landon. He is also survived by his siblings, Chuck Sherretts (Cecilia), Henry Piatt (Nancy), Terry Piatt (Georgia), Tim Piatt and Darlene Reiser (Al). Jack is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews as well as his dearest friend, Daniel (Abe) Abramson.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Marie Piatt; his sister, Helen Friend; and his nephew, John (Jed) Piatt.
