Jacob Erbe Gaub, 68, of Meadville, died suddenly at Erie Osteopathic Hospital, Sunday, October 3, 1965.
Born in Pittsburgh in September 18, 1897, Mr. Gaub was a son of George W. and Hilda Prinzler Gaub. He was married to the former Jessie Cuthsall on September 23, 1937.
Mr. Gaub was retired from the local American Viscose Corp. where he served as a draftsman for 30 years.
He was a member of Stone Methodist Church, Stafford Post of the American Legion, officer of Cochranton Masonic Lodge, past high priest of the Solomon Royal Arch Chapter, past thrice illustrious master of Royal and Select Masters of PA, member of Council of Anointed Kings of Ohio, past commander of Northwestern Commandary, Knights Templar; Scottish Rite Bodies, Zem Zem Temple, Crawford County Shrine Club, Association of Masonic Veterans. He was a veteran of service in World War I.
Among his survivors are six sisters, Katherine, Anna and Hilda Gaub, all of Meadville, Mrs. William (Margaret) Simonsen and Mrs. Elizabeth Cormin, both of Erie and Mrs. Harold (Georgene) Wood of Saegertown; four brothers, George, Daniel, John and Frederick, all of Meadville and an aunt, Mrs. Hilda Bittler of Meadville.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Cochranton Cemetery.
