Jacob H. Stolz

September 17, 1872 — January 1, 1753

Jacob H. Stolz, 81, charter member of the local AFL carpenters' union and president of the Home Building and Loan Assn., died suddenly Saturday, following a heart attack.

He retired only in recent years from his trade as a carpenter and building contractor.  In 1950, he was presented a ring by Local 556, AFL-United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America in recognition of his half century of membership in the union.

Son of the late Frederick G. and Dora Lauderman Stolz, he spent his early life in Woodcock Township and moved to Meadville when he was 18.  He was married in 1901 to the former Rose M. Hoffman who survives along with a son, Edward H. Stolz of Dorset, OH and a granddaughter, Mrs. Jean Stolz Jeppe of Geneva, OH.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
