James (Jim) A. Lee, Jr., 67, of 21618 Golden Dr., Meadville, died Friday, October 29, 2004 at Meadville Medical Center.
He was born in Meadville April 11, 1937, a son of the late James A. and Dorothy Smith Lee. He married Lois Petri June 13, 1961.
He was a 1956 graduate of Meadville High School. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran from 1956 to 1960, working as a radio operator of classified transmissions stationed aboard the USS Shangri-La in the Pacific Ocean. He worked at the American Viscose for 11 years and subsequently worked for the Meadville Housing Corp. for 30 years, retiring in 2002 at head painter. He was a former board member of the Autumn Hills Water Company and was a member of Ducks Unlimited, Ruffed Grouse Society, Northwest Turkey Federation, Save Our Native Species (S.O.N.S.) of Lake Erie, and the American Legion Post 282. He was a former little league baseball coach and was an avid hunter, fisherman, and sportsman.
He was affiliated with Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors, in addition to his wife of 43 years, include a son, Charles (Chuck) Lee and his wife Susan of Erie; 4 daughters, Katherine (Kathy) Lee, Karen Lee, Suzanne Mudger and her husband Robert, and JoAnn Lee, all of Meadville; a brother, John W. Lee of Meadville; 7 grandchildren, Kristine and Lindsay Mudger, Megan, Shannon, and Ryan Lee, Samuel Cornell, and Nathan Lee; an Uncle, John D. Smith of Meadville; and numerous nieces, nephews; and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a niece, Jessica Lee.
Calling hour will be Saturday from 12 to 1 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville where a memorial service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Brian Moran, Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating.
