James E. "Jim" Shetter

March 5, 1950 — July 7, 2019

James E. “Jim” Shetter, Jr., 69 of Stoneboro, passed away on July 7, 2019. Jim was born on March 5, 1950 to the late James E. Shetter, Sr., and Virgillia Bennett Shetter. He was a graduate of Wilmington Area High School and went on to Penn State and received his Associates of Business Agriculture. Jim worked for many years as a mechanic for RW Kyle in addition to farming. Jim loved to farm and spend time outdoors, he also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He will be remembered as a hardworking man who loved his family and friends and who enjoyed having a cold beer. Jim is survived by his children, James E. Shetter III of Greenville, Melissa Cortrell of Greenville, grandchildren Jimmy, Nicholas, Brianna, Taylor, Bethany, Olivia, and Cody, and great-grandchildren Gracelynn and Chase, siblings Jerry Shetter (Mary) of Cabot, Judy Crider (John) of Virginia, Jeff Shetter of Rural Valley, and Edward Shetter (Doreen) of Texas. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his children Jennifer Madura and Bryan Shetter. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Black Funeral Home of STONEBORO, 99 Franklin Street, where family and friends are welcome from 4-7 pm on Friday, July 12, a funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, July 13, at 11 am.
