James Edward Hockenberry

James Edward Hockenberry, 69, of Jackson Center Pennsylvania, passed away on September 10, 2021. He was born November 30, 1951 in Grove City, the son of John Hockenberry and Doris Buchanan. James joined the Navy in 1968 and served until honorably discharged. He fought for our country in the Vietnam War aboard the USS Inchon. James married Cynthia Ferringer. They shared 3 daughters, a step son, and 9 grandchildren. Later in life, he married Suzanne Eggert. James worked with Dick Corp and was a Union member. He enjoyed his retirement after many years of hard work. He had a strong work ethic and was well respected in his industry for his knowledge and dedication. James was a kind and giving man, he especially loved his family, Steeler Football, NASCAR, John Wayne movies, and wildlife as an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a skilled dog breeder. He was a regular at Rudy’s and Yellow Creek diner and will miss his family there. He was a Christian and former member of Calvary Christian Church. His favorite bible verse was Psalms 23: 1-6. James is survived by his daughters Christine Hockenberry, Jamie Sullivan and Jennifer Hockenberry and Carl J. Reese. His grandchildren Lauren & Taylor Eckelberger, Christopher Pease, Harley Seacrest, Kaylea Sullivan, Paige Kobsik, Greyson Kobsik, Declan Hockenberry, and Luca Kobsik. His Sister Judy Roseth her husband Jim Roseth. Brothers Davey Hockenberry, Ernie Hardisky and Gary Gollwitzer. Nephew Justin Edward Hockenberry and his wife Stephanie, their children Jaclyn, Kaylyn, and Wyatt Hockenberry. Nephew John Roseth, and Niece Jessica Wurn, her husband Erik, their son and daughter, Fiona and Emmet Wurn. Cousins Craig and Bryan Hockenberry and Jill Millard and her husband David aka Freddy Millard. Preceding James in death are his parents and brothers Gary Hockenberry and David Pezzula. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc, Stoneboro & Sandy Lake James has requested no funeral or memorial services.
