James F. Gehringer, 64, of Westford Estates, Jamestown, died Sunday, January 2, 2011 at Magee Hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born June 25, 1946 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Cyril (Jim) Gehringer and Helen V. Gehringer Lee and her husband Robert E. Lee. He married Maureen A. Horgan December 30, 1977.
Jim was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in Korea from 1964 to 1966. He was employed at Paramount Die Corporation, Edinboro as a steel rule die maker for 24 years.
He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and member of the American Legion, Pittsburgh, Conneaut Lake Volunteer Fire Dept. Station 3, Conneaut Lake Park Volunteer Fire Dept. Station 5, and the National Rifle Assn. An avid BMW motorcycle rider and Pittsburgh Steelers fan, he enjoyed golfing and socializing with many friends.
He was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors, in addition to his loving wife Maureen of 33 years, include a sister, Rhoda Baldt and her husband Roy of Pittsburgh; a niece, Vonita Baldt of Pittsburgh with whom Maureen is especially appreciative for all her help and care; 1 great-niece and 1 great-nephew, Courtney and Justin; and a brother-in-law, Terrance Horgan of Pittsburgh.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Waid-Coleman Funeral Home, 12422 Conneaut Lake Rd., Conneaut Lake.
The funeral service will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Dave Brumagin officiating.
Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Harmonsburg.
