James F. Krasa, 80, of Meadville, died Friday evening at Spencer Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born in Prague, Czechoslovakia, on June 5, 1882, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Krasa and married Christina Uzlik on May 31, 1909.
He first worked as a dairy farmer, and afterwards as a guard for the American Viscose Corp. He later operated a service station at the corner of Roger Ferry and Dunham roads. He was a member of Vernon Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by his widow; four daughters, Mrs. Frank (Alice) Semerad, Mrs. John (Mae) Harmon and Mrs. John (Dorothy) Cholak, all of Meadville and Mrs. Charles (Esther) Kelyman of Kansas City, MO; three sons, Frank J. and William L., both of Meadville and John W. of Corry; twenty-seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Another son, Joseph, died in 1933.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery, Harmonsburg.
