James G. Horvat, 56, of Meadville, died Saturday, January 26, 1980, at St. Vincent's Health Center, Erie.
He was born at Scranton, March 26, 1923, a son of George and Mary Zahorsak Horvat. He married Margaret Stull November 30, 1951.
He was employed as a training specialist at Conrail where he worked for 32 years.
He was a member of Stone United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific Theater for four years. He was a member of Charles Stafford Post No. 111, American Legion, the Elks Lodge 219, Meadville, and of Erie Lackawanna Veterans Assn.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, James G. Horvat, Jr. of Erie and Thomas J. Horvat of Meadville; a brother, George E. Horvat of Scranton and two grandchildren.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
