James H. Blackhurst

James H. Blackhurst, 57, of Meadville, died Friday, July 17, 1981, at Spencer Hospital after an extended illness.

He was born at Cass, WV, September 11, 1923, a son of George (Tex) and Margaret Linan Blackhurst.  He married Daisy Snodgrass February 10, 1946.

He was employed by Crawford Central Schools in the maintenance department for the past three years.  He previously was employed by the former American Viscose, now Avtex Fibers, for eight years.

He was affiliated with Stone Methodist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Milton (Dianne) Pertl of Girard; two sons, James Jr. of Cincinnati and John of Haroborcreek; a sister, Mrs. Olin (Mary) Wood of Meadville; two brothers, Fred L. of Franklin and George V. of Meadville; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
