James H. Briggs, Sr., 70, of Brooklyn, NY, formerly of Blooming Valley, died Tuesday, January 18, 1977, at Wyckoff Heights Hospital, Brooklyn.
Born in Blooming Valley, February 12, 1906, he was a son of Frank F. and Inez Braymer Briggs. He was married to Allison Johnston. He was employed as a laboratory technician by Republic Steel and Tube, New York City.
In addition to his widow, survivors include: three daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Ruthie) Thompson of Sharpsville, Mrs. Charles (Ellen) Peterson of Ankaney, Iowa and Mrs. Charles (Carol) Henschke of Brooklyn, NY; two sons, James H. Briggs, Jr. of Brooklyn and John Briggs of Brooklyn; five sisters, Mrs. Walter (Gaye) Hotchkin of Meadville, Mrs. Ray (Estelle) Steiger of Conneautville, Mrs. Lloyd (Treva) Frye of Conneautville, Mrs. Archie (Leota) Fergason and Mrs. Stanley (Gladness) Cotterell of New Port Richey, FL; a brother, John Briggs of Blooming Valley; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, two sons, two sisters and a brother.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Blooming Valley Cemetery.
