James H. Purdy

James H. Purdy, 33, of Drexel Hill, PA, died Saturday, May 13, 1995 of injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident near Dover, DE.

He was born May 14, 1961 in Clinton, PA, a son of Robert and Shirley Savage Purdy of Meadville.

He attended Meadville High School and was a 1980 graduate of Kiski Prep School where he was an outstanding swimmer, holding several school and league records.  He attended Indiana University of PA and served three years in the US Navy as a diver, including time aboard at Diego Gracia, Indian Ocean.  He was employed by Dayco Trucking Co. of Pittsburgh as an independent contractor for US Mail. He was a member of Stone United Methodist Church.

Survivors, in addition to his parents are one brother, Cap. Raymond Purdy of Bangkok, Thailand; one sister, Cynthia Purdy of Meadville; his maternal grandmother, Olive D. Forgie of Delray Beach, FL and his companion, Sharon Purcell of Drexel Hill, PA.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Clinton United Presbyterian Cemetery.
