James L. Kindervater, 77, of Meadville, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Wesbury United Methodist Community.
He was born March 29, 1941 in Meadville, a son of the late James M. and Gertrude J. Kiser Kindervater. He married Darla M. Brant September 10, 1960 and she preceded him in death February 19, 2011.
Jim worked as an engineer for the Erie-Lackawanna and Conrail Railroads.
A member of Pleasantview Alliance Church, Jim was always willing to help people and enjoyed mowing and plowing to assist others.
Survivors include three children, Beverly Taylor (Richard) of Meadville, David Kindervater (Evangeline) of Tokyo, Japan, and Carol Kennedy (Charles) of Guys Mills; his mother-in-law, Letha Brant of Saegertown; a brother, Kenneth Kindervater (Thelma) of Arizona; nine grandchildren, Rick, Krista, Andrea, Benjamin, Casey, Dillon, Josiah, Eryn and Eryka; and seven great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, February 19th from 4-7 p.m. at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE and Wednesday, February 20th from 1-2 p.m. at Pleasantview Alliance Church, 16223 State Hwy 86, Saegertown. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Jeff Conley officiating.
Interment will be in Kiser Hill Cemetery.
