James M. Fargo, 78, of Meadville, passed away Saturday, July 3, 2021.
He was born September 9, 1942 in Meadville, a son of Elmer and Maxine Wygant LeComte. He married Martina Lightt February 24, 1968.
Jim was a 1960 graduate of Meadville High School and served in the U.S. Army National Guard. He worked as a tool maker at Imperial Carbide for over 30 years and subsequently at Holbrook Tool for over 20 years.
He was a member of Vernon Central Hose Company and the Charles Stafford American Legion Post 111. He enjoyed fishing, playing euchre, loved laughing and joking, and would help anyone in need. Jim was an avid Cleveland Browns and Indians fan.
Survivors, in addition to his wife Martina, include two sons, Thomas Fargo (Brenda Lafferty) of Meadville and Michael Fargo (Deb) of Franklin; two brothers, Alton Fargo (Janice) of Meadville and John Fargo (Prayoon) of Bangkok, Thailand; a sister, Diane Jamison of Cochranton; his mother-in-law, Lois Lightt of Meadville; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Fargo.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
