James Patrick Philbin

James Patrick Philbin, 90, of 668 Albright Drive, died at his residence, Sunday Aug. 4, 2002.

He was born Jan. 22, 1912, in York, Pa, a son of James & Susan Canning Philbin.  He married Louise Mitchell Nov. 3, 1936, and she preceded him in death July 31, 1992.

He had first worked as a musician, and later worked in wholesale and retail sales in New Jersey and Meadville.  He was a life long painter, and during his retirement at Wesbury, he had several exhibitions of his work.

He was a member of The Round Table.

Survivors include 3 daughters, Anne Philbin of New Zealand, Kathleen Quinlan of Bradley Beach, New Jersey, and Alice Philbin of Harrisonburg, VA. 4 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.

A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Burial will be in Cambridge Springs Upper Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials may be made to Wesbury United Methodist Community, 31 N. Park Ave. Meadville, PA 16335.
