James Prather Charlton, 61, of Denver, Colorado, died Monday, January 14, 2002 following a 5-month cancer illness.
He was born June 26, 1940 in Meadville, a son of the late James and Marion Prather Charlton.
He was a 1958 graduate of Meadville High School and attended Santa Monica College, Santa Monica, Calif. and Denver University, Denver, Colorado. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving from 1958 to 1961. He worked in sales for various companies and especially enjoyed golfing and hunting.
Survivors include a daughter, Dana Charlton and a son, Jeff Charlton, both of Denver; a grandson, Cole Prather Charlton; a brother D. Scott Charlton and his wife Sharon of Denver; two sisters, Mrs. Dennis (Peggy) Flannigan of Grass Valley, Calif. and Mrs. Thomas (Jane) Stanton of Meadville; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Burial will be in Greendale Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.
