James R. Nageotte

James R. Nageotte, 68, of Meadville and formerly of Saegertown, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Wesbury United Methodist Community with his wife by his side.

He was born in Meadville, December 15, 1944 a son of Robert A. and Jeannette P. Sorenson Nageotte.  He married Kay E. Jones July 8, 1978 and she survives.

He was the owner of Tool City Diamonds and previously had worked as a diamond specialist, an estimator for C. & J. Industries and in production control at Talon Inc.  He was a 1963 graduate of Randolph High School and then Erie Business College.  He was a member of Masonic Lodge #408, Past Monarch of the Kismet Grotto, Past Patron of the Golden Crown Chapter, Order of Eastern Star and the Crawford County Road Riders motorcycle group.  He was a former advisor to the Saegertown Boy Scouts and Explorer Scouts.  He enjoyed hunting, traveling, woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors, in addition to his wife Kay of 35 years, include: a daughter, Susan Sheakley of Meadville; two sons, Michael Nageotte and his wife Jodi of Blooming Valley and Brian Nageotte and his wife Lori of Meadville; five grandchildren, Christina Nageotte, Jason, Nageotte, Monica Sheakley, Sarah Nageotte and Jonathan Nageotte; two sisters-in-law, Kathy Nageotte of Titusville and Diane Nageotte of Cochranton, five brothers-in-law, Marlin Zwicky of Texas, Neil Jones and his wife Judy of Saegertown, Lyle Jones of Raleigh, NC, Lee Jones and his wife Marie of Burlington, VT and Gary Jones and his wife Laura of Punta Gorda, FL; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Connie Zwicky and two brothers, Richard Nageotte and Daniel Nageotte

Calling hours will be Saturday from 2-4 p.m. with the Masonic service following at 4 p.m. and the Order of Eastern Star service at 4:15 p.m.  The calling hours will continue Saturday evening from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.  The funeral service will follow at 8:30 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Timothy Solomon, Pastor of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, officiating.

The family suggests memorials be made to Wesbury United Methodist Community, 31 N. Park Avenue, Meadville, PA 16335 or Hospice of Crawford County, 464 Pine Street, Meadville, PA 16335.
