James W. "Jim" Harrison

James W. “Jim” Harrison, Jr., 86 of Sandy Lake, died of a lengthy illness on November 26, 2019 at St. Paul Homes in Greenville. Jim was born in Stoneboro on March 18, 1933 to the late James W. Sr. and Phyllis (Reed) Harrison. He was a 1950 graduate of Stoneboro High School and went on to serve his Country in the United States Army. While in the Army, Jim was stationed in Japan as well as worked in the Pentagon for the Secret Service. After his military service, Jim worked for Westinghouse in Sharon for 30 years. Jim married his beloved wife, Helen Keller Harrison in November of 1971, she survives at home. Jim was a homebody who loved to take care of his yard and home. He enjoyed gardening and would complete the New York Times crossword puzzles often. He enjoyed spending time with his children and loved attending school and sporting events for his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by three daughters, Tracy Mateo (Rod) of Maryland, Wendy Rodgers of Greenville, and Kimberly Kinch (Tim) of Greenville, daughter-in-law Ann Harrison of Hermitage, brother Robert Harrison of Erie, nine grandchildren, Grant Mateo, Madison Mateo, Cody Emmett, Kami Toth (Dean), Terri Larimer (Mike), Joe Vanderveen, Jacklyn Harrison, Ben Harrison, and Amanda Harrison, as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his son, William Harrison, brother Duane Harrison, and sister-in-law, Diane Harrison. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Black Funeral Home of Stoneboro. Funeral and Military services will be private. Interment will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Jim’s name to St. Paul Homes or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.BlackFuneralHomes.net
