James W. Miller

April 24, 1941 — January 1, 1753

Airman James W. Miller, 21, son of Fred R. and Annabel Shaw Miller, of Meadville, was killed early Saturday morning, April 20, 1963, in an auto accident in California.

Airman Miller was stationed at Vandenburg Air Force Base, California, where he was a radio maintenance man.  He was a graduated from Meadville Area High School in 1959 and in July of that year entered the Air Force.  Following a tour of 18 months in Turkey, he was assigned to Vandenburg in December, 1961.  He was employed for two years while in high school at the Isaly dairy store on North Street and was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

He was born at Slippery Rock April 24, 1941, and was unmarried.

Surviving, besides his parents, are a sister, Ella May at home; two brothers, Raymond with the Air Force in Europe and William at home; his maternal grandmother, Ella Shaw of Meadville  and a paternal grandmother, Mrs. Florence Miller of Cincinnati, OH.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Mercer Citizens Cemetery.
